Christian Maasem is a Partner Expert at Detecon Consulting and Head of Hyperconnectivity. After studying physics and economics, Christian headed the Information Technology Management group and the InnovationLabs at the FIR at RWTH Aachen University. In 2016, he founded and led the Center Connected Industry at the RWTH Aachen Campus as Centre Director. In 2018, he was appointed managing director of the Enterprise Integration Centre Aachen GmbH.
During his activities, Christian was responsible for many innovation, research, and consulting projects in digitalization, focusing on industry 4.0, industrial IoT, automotive, future logistics, e-mobility, smart grid, health, and smart city. Following the vision of the RWTH Aachen Campus, he is driven by the ecosystem idea of bringing together technology providers and users from different industries to create new use case-centered ICT solutions and data ecosystems for productive and economic use. Following the modular principle, he incorporates experience from knowledge of various technology areas (IoT, 5G, edge cloud, big data, AI, automation, etc.).
