Minister The Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia

Since September 2023, Inga Bērziņa has been the Minister for Smart Administration and Regional Development, responsible for regional development, digital transformation, and the implementation and coordination of e-government. This includes establishing a one-stop shop for state and local government services and introducing modern and efficient information and communication technologies in the public sector.

The Minister’s priority is Latvia’s sustainable development, ensuring a favorable and modern living environment for its citizens.

Inga Bērziņa was elected to the 14th Saeima and was previously Chair of the Social and Labour Affairs Commission. She has many years of experience in local government, having served as Mayor of Kuldīga, whose Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. She has also been a member of the Latvian delegation to the Committee of the Regions of the European Union and a freelance adviser to the Prime Minister on regional development.

Inga Bērziņa is a Member of the Board of the party “Kuldīgas novads” and a Member of the Board of the party union “Jaunā Vienotība”.
