Nick Johnson

Head UKTIN

Nick is the Head of the UK Telecoms Innovation Network (UKTIN), a consortium of Digital Catapult, West Midlands 5G, Cambridge Wireless, and the University of Bristol, on a mission to reconnect the UK telecoms innovation ecosystem with itself and its global context.

Before that, he was the founder and CTO of ip.access, the pioneering cellular radio business, from 2000 until its acquisition by Mavenir in 2020. During that period, he was the Chair of the Radio and Physical Layer Working Group of the Small Cell Forum and lays claim to originating its FAPI work item.

Nick’s name is on several patents and a Ph.D. thesis from University College London.
