Oskars is Senior Scientist and Technical Lead at the Kista High-speed Transmission Lab (Kista HST-Lab) at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. He’s also appointed as Affiliated Faculty on Optical Communication at Department of Applied Physics, KTH Royal institute of Technology. Oskars’ research interests are in areas such as signal processing and optical communication.
Prior in his professional career, Oskars has been a guest researcher at Technical University of Denmark, Ghent University, University of Rennes 1, III-V Lab and Keysight Technologies. He’s a co-holder of several world records reported at conference post-deadline sessions: (1) on highest baud rate for 204 Gbps OOK transmitted with single integrated externally modulated laser at OFC2018, (2) on highest real-time duobinary transmission at ECOC2016, (3) on single-transmitter/single-receiver THz link (0.3-0.5 THz) with a record net data rate of 260 Gbps at IPC2016, (4) on Gigabit free-space multi-level signal transmission with a mid-infrared quantum cascade laser operating at room temperature.
Oskars is an author of 195 international journal publications, conference contributions, invited talks/ tutorials/ keynote/ lectures, patents, and book chapters. Additionally, he has more than 12 years of experience in supervising students.
