Thorgeir Sigurdarson is Head of Broadband Data Analytics at the Electronic Communications Office of Iceland (ECOI), where he is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing Icelandic telecom data. He also manages ECOI’s telecom infrastructure database, which is an essential component in fulfilling various responsibilities in ECOI’s day-to-day work as a regulatory body.
Thorgeir also serves as ECOI’s representative in a newly formed collaborative forum where Icelandic MNOs are authorized and encouraged to collaborate on mobile network deployment in rural areas. The forum plays an integral part in Iceland’s goal to have all the country’s main roads covered by high-capacity mobile broadband.
